There isn't one way to do this.

People arrive needing different things. Some want to start slowly, one hour at a time. Some need a longer stretch before anything shifts. Some have a clear sense of what they're looking for, and some have no idea.

What follows is how the work is structured, what I draw on, and what it costs. If you're not sure which fits, that's what the first call is for.

Ways to work together

Two formats, depending on what you need.

Individual therapy

50 minutes · Weekly, biweekly, or monthly

The usual shape of the work. We begin with a 90 minute intake to understand your history properly, then meet regularly from there.

Frequency varies. Some people come twice a week, some weekly, some monthly. We find what your system can actually use and adjust as that changes.

Intensives

2 to 3 hours · Scheduled individually

A longer single session, useful when an hour keeps ending just as something starts to move, or when travel makes weekly sessions impractical.

Some people use these alongside ongoing work. Others come for one or two and return as needed.

Who this is for

Most people arrive without a clean name for what's wrong. They know the shape of it. They know how long it's been there. What they want is for it to stop running the day.

I work with adults carrying complex trauma and PTSD, developmental trauma, attachment disruption, addictions, and eating disorders.

Primary approach

Transforming Touch

Developed by Stephen Terrell, Transforming Touch was built for people whose difficulties began early, in the years when the nervous system was still forming and long before anything could be put into words.

You lie clothed on a table, or sit if that's easier, and I make gentle contact at specific points on the body. There's no pressure and no manipulation. You don't need to narrate anything if you don't want to.

What the work offers is something many nervous systems didn't get enough of early on: steady, predictable, unhurried contact. A system that learned to stay ready for the next thing receives repeated evidence that it doesn't have to.

That evidence accumulates slowly, and the people around you often notice before you do. The early changes are easy to miss: sleep goes deeper, eating gets easier, the startle response softens, there's less fear underneath things, and you catch your patterns as they happen.

Touch is never a requirement. Some people work with me for a long time before any of this is on the table, and some never use it at all. What we do is decided together, at a pace your system sets.

What else I draw on.

Different systems need different things. These are the approaches I reach for most often alongside Transforming Touch.

Somatic Experiencing

A gentle, body-based approach to healing trauma, developed by Dr. Peter Levine. Rather than focusing on retelling what happened, SE works directly with the nervous system, tracking physical sensations so that stuck survival energy can move through and the body's natural stress response can complete.

This can ease anxiety, hypervigilance, chronic tension, and emotional numbness, offering a felt sense of relief that talk therapy alone often can't reach.

Brainspotting

A focused-mindfulness therapy that uses eye position to access and process trauma, emotional pain, and stuck points held in the brain and body. Developed by Dr. David Grand, it rests on a simple idea: where you look affects how you feel. Specific eye positions, called brainspots, reach deeper nonverbal layers of the brain where trauma is stored.

Sessions can involve very little talking. You hold a brainspot while your brain and body do the processing. There's no need to relive or narrate the story for healing to happen, if you don't want to.

Often helpful for: traumatic memories stored below conscious recall, the nervous system roots of anxiety rather than its symptoms, performance blocks, and chronic pain with a brain-body component.

Embodied Recovery for Eating Disorders

A body-centred approach to eating disorder healing that looks beneath food and body image concerns to the nervous system patterns often driving them. Rather than focusing solely on behaviours, it helps rebuild trust in the body's signals: hunger, fullness, safety, and emotion.

It's grounded in the understanding that disordered eating often develops as a nervous system's attempt to cope with overwhelm or disconnection. Well suited to anyone looking for a whole-person path to recovery that goes beyond symptom management.

Safe and Sound Protocol

A five-hour listening therapy developed by Dr. Stephen Porges from Polyvagal Theory, using specially filtered music to calm the nervous system's threat response and build capacity for connection.

By gently exercising the muscles involved in listening and social engagement, it can ease anxiety, sensory sensitivities, and difficulty feeling at ease with others. Delivered in short, low-intensity sessions, usually alongside other therapy, and used with both children and adults.

Rest and Restore Protocol

A gentle, music-based listening therapy designed to support deep rest and nervous system recovery, particularly from chronic stress or burnout. The audio helps shift the body out of fight-or-flight and into a state where genuine restoration becomes possible.

Often a good fit for people who feel chronically exhausted, wired but tired, or unable to relax even when circumstances allow it, and for those dealing with gut issues or tight fascia.

The Focus System

A multisensory programme combining music, movement, and visual tracking with somatic awareness, supporting nervous system regulation, brain integration, and skill-building.

Designed for a wide range of sensory-motor, neurodevelopmental, and trauma-related challenges, it helps build focus, presence, and grounded attention, capacities that chronic stress and dysregulation tend to disrupt.
